JANESVILLE — Kiley Nihart’s single in the bottom of the seventh inning capped a spirited comeback by the Medford softball team in the Tigers’ 9-8 victory over J-W-P on Thursday evening.

Following a four-run sixth that leveled the score at 8-8, Nihart ripped a single on a 2-1 pitch to bring home the game-winning run. It was the sophomore’s only hit of the game.

Medford trailed 6-2 after just two innings and 8-4 heading into the bottom of the sixth.

The middle of the Tigers’ lineup produced in a big way as No. 3 batter Lilly Roehrick and cleanup hitter Izzy Reuvers combined for six hits and seven RBIs.

Mack Paulson pitched all seven innings for Medford, allowing five earned-runs while striking out four.
