2018 Toyota Camry XSE Interior and Engine Review
2018 Toyota Camry XSE. so even though the SUV is the hot seller here in America family sedans are still a very important segment for any manufacturer just look at the Toyota Camry. Toyota consistently sells over 400,000 units.
so this what you’re looking at is the all-new version let’s take a first look so with Toyota moving roughly 400,000 of these annually you can bet that this is a very important model for the company.
and this all-new ninth generation is basically the sportiest most aggressive and most performance oriented Camry that Toyota has ever offered you can see starting with the design I mean just look at it this grille takes a lot of influence from the Lexus spindle grille kind of like the refreshed 2015.
and up 2018 Toyota Camry XSE it’s definitely bold I particularly like though the contrast that this particular one is showing it’s definitely different with the black accents as a black roof it has quad exhaust in the back. These headlights most of them will come with LED accents on the even on the lower trims and it definitely pops this is definitely a much more aggressive looking camry not the vanilla toaster appliance that most camry have been known for in the past.
Now even looking at the wheels these 19-inch wheels are basically the largest wheel offerings I’ve ever seen toy to offer on a factory camry they look fantastic actually I mean they’re take basically taking a page from Honda’s book with the quartz sport and sport touring offering really good-looking wheels
Now underneath the hood you’re probably wondering what’s going on there Tyler is offering three all new powertrains there’s a standard 2.5 liter four-cylinder. Now with direct injection the upgrade mode will be 3.5 liter v6 with direct import injection as well.
and then of course there’s an all-new 2 liter hybrid motor system which Toyota didn’t offer any kind of fuel economy or performance numbers at the time however they are promising the best-in-class performance. If you guys want to look at some numbers the Highlander with this motor makes 295 horsepower while the Tacoma with this motor makes 278 so I imagine the 2018 Toyota Camry XSE will probably be closer to the highlanders figures.
Now looking around the side here this particular one that I’m showing you is an X SE trim that black contrasting roof is definitely interesting it takes a lot of design cues from Nissan. I see a little bit of Kia Optima and the rear D pillar and then looking at these taillights here just check them out they’re really interesting looking
I mean you have the LED accents I really like this kind of fake vents here that kind of tries to make it look a little bit more aggressive but really what shocked me completely is the quad exhaust I mean that’s really that’s really cool honestly so I’m glad to see.
Toyota’s trying to make the 2018 Toyota Camry XSE a much more interesting vehicle they claim that this is much more sporty Drive it rides on an all-new platform it’s lighter versus the old model but we’ll have to wait until we actually drive one to see if Toyota’s claims are valid.
but overall the design of the 2018 Toyota Camry XSE is definitely not the boring transportation appliance that you know 2018 Toyota Camry XSE pulled so the exterior of the new 2018 Toyota Camry XSE is definitely bold and aggressive. But what does the interior look like let’s take a look now this is my first time actually checking out the inside of the all-new Camry and I’m noticing quite a few things here obviously Toyota up the interior quality.
2018 Toyota Camry XSE Interior
this 2018 Toyota Camry XSE model that I’m showing you has these gorgeous red leather seats I mean that’s fantastic red leather was specifically used to be offered only on luxury brands so it’s great to see Toyota offering it on a 2018 Toyota Camry XSE here but stepping inside.
You can see here I definitely feel the fact that the new 2018 Toyota Camry XSE is lower in fact Toyota says the hood is 1.6 inches lower which gives this vehicle a really commanding view it’s really nice front of, low hood hood cowl, so you basically can see over it really easily. Now looking at these seats are setting into these seats they definitely have a wider bolstering versus the standard models I mean this is the XSE.
See that I’m showing you and Toyota really upped the interior quality I see a lot of stitching in here contrasting stitching I love the red accents even on the dashboard that they carried over in the upper part of the – there’s all soft touch there’s definitely some interesting shapes here as well you kind of have almost like a five-point center stack here with lots of knobs and buttons so I’m glad to see Toyota is carried over that the infotainment system what you’re looking at is the latest Entune 3.0 it’s an 8-inch display you have a 7-inch display in the instrument panel and a 10-inch head-up display so I mean the technology in here is crazy it’s very luxury car like the Toyotas throwing into here.
The steering wheel is also new design it’s a little bit thin rim for me I would have liked to see like maybe a flat bottom maybe that’s asking too much but it is a really nice interior I can’t really complain too much one thing I will complain about is the fact that Toyota doesn’t offer Android auto and apple carplay instead you have the latest Entune 3.0.
I’ll reserve judgment until I actually start using it and paired with my phone however I really Toyota needs to offer that in the next generation of models now safety has always been a big concern for Toyota and their toilet safety sense P actually comes standard
so every 2018 Toyota Camry XSE will come standard with full speed range adaptive cruise control forward collision warning with emergency lane keep assist and lane departure warning so I mean honestly in terms of the safety front Toyota has all those boxes checked .
Now you can expect this all new 2018 Toyota Camry XSE to go on sale later this year probably around the spring summer time with no pricing it announced to Toyota we’ll probably an outsize we got closer to the on sale date but overall I think this is definitely one of the sportiest one of the most luxurious and one of the most aggressive camry that Toyota has ever offered here in the States.
