2018 Hyundai Sonata Interior, Dashboard Review

When Hyundai introduced the seventh generation Sonata back in 2015 a lot of people felt it was kind of a step back it just didn’t have that same sleep style as the sixth generation model. you can see for this 2018 Hyundai Sonata refresh the company is trying to rectify that it has a lot of resemblance to that Elantra GT. It bears the new corporate front face the company’s cascading style grille which certainly looks a lot more appealing and a lot more stylish explained by new full LED headlights with new vertical running LED daytime running lights.

2018 Hyundai Sonata Exterior

The all models will pretty much come standard with LED daytime running lights but if you want the full LED headlights that’s an option on the higher trims. you can see this the silhouette of the 2018 Hyundai Sonata hasn’t really changed it still has the same basic shape this is still just a refresh of the 7th generation model now this particular one that I’m showing you is a sport 2.0 tires it has these new restyled 18-inch wheels on new michelin tires.

They surprisingly look a little bit small the old one kamini looked like it had a little bit less rubber Hyundai may have kind of made the tires a little bit bigger just to soften off the ride now because here the rest of the proportions have been changed it still has this really long chrome belt line that goes all the way up to defender

when you come to the rear here you can also see Hyundai made extensive changes to the tail lights you have that same kind of alien shape that they introduced on the new Elantra with these new restyled LED tail lights.

2018 Hyundai Sonata Engine Review

It’s definitely very different they even reposition the license plate from the trunk lid down here to the lower bumper. the sporty 2.0 T will also have dual trapezoidal exhaust if you guys go for the regular of 2.4 liter 4-cylinder Mazda it’s not a single trapezoidal exhaust. but overall I think the design certainly looks a lot more interesting I especially like the integrated rear spoiler into the trunk but let’s take a look at the what’s underneath on the road and see if Hyundai’s made any changes.

now underneath the hood of the Refresh Sonata there aren’t really that many changes. Base model will still have the 2.4 liter gasoline direct injection four-cylinder this one that I’m showing you is the Sport 2.0 T it still has the same 2-liter turbocharged GDI engine direct injection it still makes the same 245 horsepower.

The transmission is actually new for the turbo it now has an 8-speed automatic EPS replacing the 6-speed auto the base 2.4 still runs with the 6-speed automatic also not as a front-wheel drive there’s no manual there’s no fuel economy information yet Hyundai is still working on the final numbers but overall it should make for a pretty satisfying Drive especially with this upgraded engine.

2018 Hyundai Sonata Interior

The inside of the refreshed Sonata you can see Hyundai also made slight changes it’s not quite as extensive as the exterior. the seats they have a slightly different contrast to them I really like the blue stitching and piping still have the turbo badge on this particular trim level.

a pretty easy step in height this is just a family sedan and overall I’m seeing some changes with the dashboard design and there’s some new aluminum brushed aluminum trim the overall shape of the def hasn’t really changed there’s a new infotainment system here with a new bezel the screen itself has updated graphics the interfaces.

Pretty much the same you have the Hyundai blue link element X with Android auto and apple carplay now one thing out hon they did include on all terms of standard blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert it’s the only mid-size family sedan in which segment with that features standard a lot of them make you pay extra for a feature like that you still have heated and cooled seats there’s a heated steering wheel on this particular one I really like the flat bottom wheel with the paddle shift there’s.

this one doesn’t have a panoramic sunroof I actually don’t see any of the trim oldest here with a panel Center so I’ll have to double check to see the Hyundai still offers that as an option that was definitely one of the strong selling features vehicle I hope they haven’t taken that away you can expect the new 2018 Hyundai Sonata to go on sale later this year with pricing to state that should stay close to the current model when it does come to market.
